It's Game Time

Are you looking for some fun activities and games you and your kids can play at home? Take a look at some of the great books in our collection at the Palo Alto City Library. Here are a few highlights:

The 2,000 Best Games & Activities: This book includes activities for babies and children up to eight years old. The chapters focus on such areas as communication, concentration, curiousity, and decision making. Each activity is only 5-15 minutes in length, so they are quick to fit into a busy schedule.

Do-It-Yourself Early Learning: The educational activities included in this book can be used by preschool teachers, home-schoolers, and anyone who wants to add educational value to their childrens' playtimes. Each activity includes a list of materials (all of which can be found in home improvement stores), estimated cost, specific directions, and concepts that will be learned by participating in the activity.

Fun with Mommy & Me: More than 300 activities for kids birth through age five are detailed in this colorful book. The activities sections for babies are broken down into three month age increments, and the toddler and preschooler sections are organized by months of the year and include holiday activities.
