Healthy Kids during the Holidays

I was just reading the newspaper and found out that George W. Bush is getting ready to veto government health care insurance for children. We are approaching winter and kids tend to get sick. Now more than ever, it is important to keep kids healthy. Here are some books that may increase their understanding of some common diseases and ailments:

Catching a Cold; How you get Ill, Suffer and Recover by Steve Parker
This book clearly explains what happens to the body when you catch a cold through pictures and diagrams.

Sore Throats and Tonsillitis by Dr. Alvin Silverstein, Virginia Silverstein, and Laura Silverstein Nunn
The book describes the nature and causes of a sore throat. It also discusses the immune systems and differentiates between strep throat and tonsillitis.

The Disease Book; A Kids' Guide by Margaret O. Hyde and Elizabeth H. Forsyth
Includes information on disorders of the heart and blood vessels, digestive system, liver, kidney, eyes and so much more.
