Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins

Those of you who have been in the Bay Area a while will probably know about this, but for all you newcomers, The Pumpkin Festival is an event not to be missed! It's an annual happening that lasts for about 3 weeks, culminating in a weekend long festival in Half Moon Bay; this year the dates are October 18 & 19. Prior to that weekend, the open fields along Hwy 92 are filled with all sizes and colors of pumpkins, big hay bales, dried corn stalks, pony rides for the kids and lots of outdoor activities. It's truly a spectacle! The only downside is the traffic jam you are bound to encounter. So get prepared with some music CDs or talking books to keep the kids entertained and your sanity intact! For more information about the festival, see their website http://www.miramarevents.com/pumpkinfest/.
