Grandparents Day

Did you know that this Sunday, September 9th, is National Grandparents Day? This observation began when a West Virginian housewife named Marian McQuade wanted a way to honor the elderly. In 1978, President Jimmy Carter proclaimed that every year on the first Sunday after Labor Day, we would celebrate grandparents nationwide. For more Grandparents Day activities, history, contests, and events, visit the National Grandparents Day website.
