Did you know that this Sunday, September 9th, is National Grandparents Day? This observation began when a West Virginian housewife named Marian McQuade wanted a way to honor the elderly. In 1978, President Jimmy Carter proclaimed that every year on the first Sunday after Labor Day, we would celebrate grandparents nationwide.
