Everyone knows Ernest Lawrence Thayer's classic poem "Casey at the Bat." Well, here's a fantastic sequel by Dan Gutman, Casey Back at Bat. In this new version of the tale, Casey does whack the ball -- over the Atlantic, past the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Sphinx, then back through time past dinosaurs, then out into space, and finally returning to earth .... to a most unfortunate conclusion. Still no joy in Mudville (oh, well), but a lot of fun along the way. Great illustrations, too.
