Poetry Fridays: Big, Bad and a Little Bit Scary

Love dangerous, scary, funny animal books. Well you are in for a treat because the book, Big, Bad and a Little Bit Scary; Poems that Bite Back combines them all. This book even comes with a warning. The warning reads: this book contains wild animals! In particular, I love one poem in the book because it reminds me of my visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the "not-so-intelligent" gentleman who stuck his finger in the piranha tank to see if it would bite his finger. He drew blood and announced it to everyone at the aquarium. Kids, I'd highly recommend NOT imitating this gentleman.

Strippers (from Dick King-Smith)

If you fall into a river that's full of Piranha,

They'll strip off your flesh like you'd skin a banana.

There's no time for screaming, there's no time for groans.

In forty-five seconds you're nothing but bones
